6. Sailing Logbook NMEA App

The following information applies additionally to the use of the iOS app Sailing Logbook NMEA.

Location Data

The app collects GPS data during an active passage to record the GPS track, distance and position. Location data is processed exclusively on your device. Data is only transmitted to external systems with your explicit action (web export).

Photos

With your permission, the app can access your photo library to add photos to passages. Photos are stored locally and synced between your own devices via Apple iCloud.

Weather Data

The app retrieves anonymous weather data from Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com). Your current location is used for the weather query. No personal data is transmitted to Open-Meteo.

Tide Data

On request, tide data can be retrieved via the WorldTides API using an API key provided by the user. Location is transmitted for the query.

NMEA Instrument Data

Instrument data (wind, depth, heading etc.) is received locally via TCP from the user’s NMEA gateway and stored exclusively on-device. No data is transmitted to third parties.

iCloud Sync

Passage data, photos and documents are synced between your own devices via Apple iCloud. Apple’s privacy policy applies.

Web Export

When using the web export feature, passage data (GPS track, statistics, photos) is transmitted to your own WordPress website. You are responsible for data processing on your own website.

In-App Purchases

Purchases (annual subscription, lifetime) are processed exclusively through the Apple App Store. Apple’s privacy policy applies.

No Registration, No Accounts

The app does not require registration or a user account. No personal data is transmitted to the app developer.
